Christ Church celebrates Remembrance Sunday annually on the Sunday closest to November 1st, which is All Saints’ Day.
On Remembrance Sunday we honor and remember those from our church family who have died in the previous 12 months. Families who have lost a loved one during this time period are invited to gather in the sanctuary after the worship service to have a prayer with our pastor, Rev. Dr. Julia Wharff Piermont. Each family is presented with a white rose of remembrance to take home.
Christ Church was incorporated in February of 2006 and our first Remembrance Sunday was on October 31, 2010. Two of our founding members recognized the importance of honoring and giving thanks for church members who had died since Christ Church was founded. Twenty-one people were honored that year.
In addition to our church members we now include our wider church family of friends attending Christ Church who have lost a loved one in their immediate family. It is truly a privilege and an honor to remember these special members and friends.
