Our pastor is a native of Scotland who served as senior pastor and head of staff for 18 years at Kirk in the Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He started at Christ Church on December 1, 2014. Norman was educated at the University of Glasgow and received his doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, in 1991. Early in his career he served significant churches in Edinburgh and West Kilbride, Scotland, and from 1979 to 1995, he was senior minister of The Scots Church in Melbourne, Australia. Norman and his wife, Joan, a retired educator moved to our area following his retirement late in 2014. They have two children, their daughter, Gillian, living in Ontario with her husband and two children and their son, Andrew who lives in California.
Robert S. RomanskiDirector of Music
Robert comes to us with outstanding credentials and experience. He was Director of Music Ministries at the Ruskin United Methodist Church since 2006, and is presently an Adjunct Music Professor at the University of South Florida, Barry University and Hillsborough Community College.
Prior to working at the Ruskin church, Robert was Director at the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon. He has been appointed as Director and Principal Conductor of the North Port Symphony. Robert has degrees in Music Education, conducting and Applied Music and has completed his course work in a Ph D. Music Education Program.
Jeremy D. Silverman is an award-winning songwriter, composer, arranger, and musical director, with music that spans genres from choral/orchestral to pop/rock to musical theatre. He is currently Music Director for the University of South Florida School of Theatre and Dance in Tampa, FL, Music Director for the Broadway Theatre Project, and Resident Musical Director for the award-winning Eight O’Clock Theatre in Largo, FL. He has been assistant music director for Busch Gardens Entertainment.
Rich RaymondFacility Manager
Rich brings a long and varied experience to the position of building management. A navy Veteran, Rich has owned and managed warehouse and retail space, and apartment buildings for many years. He has managed landscaping and maintenance of the planned community where he lived in Ft. Meyers and served as a Board member there. He is an enthusiastic and energetic man and said that this job was exactly what he was looking for.
Kathy ButlerAdministrative Assistant
Kathy Butler grew up in Indiana and has lived in Sarasota for 50 years. Happily. married to Steve since 1976, they have one married daughter and two grandchildren in Clearwater, and a four-legged son, Dugan the Golden Retriever.
Kathy worked for one of our parishioners for almost 30 years and is very thankful that he recommended her to our Church. When not at CCLBK, Kathy enjoys traveling, quilting, baking, but mostly being with their grandchildren.
